JTSengines do not tend to have worn variators which is probably on account of using 10W/60 engine oil. Variator solenoids are quite reliable but should be available second hand if necessary. The 2 main issues with the JTS are carbon build up and oil consumption. The former can be managed but the latter can be eradicated.
